With the majority takeover of Klara Business AG by Swiss Post, a new communication services ecosystem is created and access to digital postal services is simplified even further. To this end, the Digital Inbox is incorporated into Klara Business AG. For you, the customer, this changes absolutely nothing.
What does this integration mean from a legal perspective?
The “Digital Inbox” product and its customers will be transferred with all rights and obligations to Klara Business Ltd on 9 October 2020.
Will there be new contracts?
No, universal succession will apply. The contracts will not be cancelled. They will be transferred to Klara Business Ltd on a one-to-one basis.
Is Swiss Post taking responsibility for Klara Business Ltd? Is there a financial guarantee?
As the majority shareholder, Swiss Post will be in the background and will support Klara Business Ltd.
Will the same standards be guaranteed at Klara Business Ltd as at Swiss Post?
Yes, only the access will change. With the integration of the “Digital Inbox” into Klara Business Ltd, access to the applications will be given a slightly modified look with the logo “Swiss Post - powered by Klara Business Ltd”. The applications will continue to use the yellow colour. All functions will be available as usual.
Operations and scanning will continue to be handled by Swiss Post.
Where is the data stored? Will the data continue to be stored in Switzerland?
The data will continue to be stored on Swiss Post’s servers and data centers in Switzerland.
What can I do if I do not want to switch to Klara Business Ltd?
The transfer to Klara Business Ltd will happen automatically and the contractual relationship will continue.
If the customer insists on Swiss Post being the contractual partner, the existing contract must be cancelled and a new contract signed.
Will scanning be removed by Klara Business Ltd?
No, scanning will continue to be offered with Swiss Post and will be expanded by Klara Business Ltd.
Who will operate and support the “Digital Inbox” and “e-archive” in future?
Operations and support from Swiss Post IT is guaranteed until the end of 2020. Klara Business Ltd and Swiss Post are examining which of the two partners will operate the applications in future, while maintaining the highest standards and specifications, to allow both parties to maximize the benefits of the partnership.
The scanning will continue to be handled by Swiss Post as now.
Who will I receive invoices from in future?
Invoicing will continue to be handled by Swiss Post until the end of 2020. From 2021, invoices will be created by Klara Business Ltd.
With the “Digital Inbox”, we scan your mail and send it to you in PDF form for ongoing processing. This means you can transfer a digitized invoice or contract, for example, to your ERP system or accounting software and start an (automated) workflow.
The physical and digital documents are destroyed after 30 days.

Letters with addresses that are automatically recognized by the sorting systems are redirected to the scanning center. The other letters will continue to be sent to your company or P.O. Box address.

If the redirected business mail unit prices exceed the minimum price of CHF 27 (excl. VAT) per month, the monthly minimum price will be omitted from the invoice and only the number of letters redirected by machine will be invoiced.
